Import Troubleshooting
Common Data Import Issues and Solutions
If you're having trouble importing data into your EptaWealth account, this guide will help you troubleshoot and resolve common import issues.
File Format Issues
EptaWealth supports CSV (Comma-Separated Values) files for data import. Issues with file format are common.
Solution:
- Ensure your file is saved in CSV format
- Check that the file uses comma (,) as the delimiter
- Make sure the file is properly encoded (UTF-8 is recommended)
- Remove any special characters or formatting from your data
Header Row Issues
The CSV file must have a header row with the correct column names.
Solution:
- Ensure your CSV file has a header row as the first line
- Check that the column names match the expected format (see the import template)
- Column names should not contain special characters
- Download our import template to see the correct format
Data Format Issues
Data in your CSV file must be formatted correctly for successful import.
Solution:
- Dates: Use YYYY-MM-DD format (e.g., 2023-05-15)
- Numbers: Use decimal points, not commas (e.g., 1234.56, not 1,234.56)
- Text: If text contains commas, enclose it in double quotes
- Symbols: Use standard ticker symbols for stocks and cryptocurrencies
File Size Issues
Very large files may cause import problems.
Solution:
- Keep file size under 10MB
- If your file is too large, split it into multiple smaller files
- Remove any unnecessary columns or data
Duplicate Data Issues
Importing duplicate data can cause conflicts.
Solution:
- Check for duplicate entries in your CSV file before importing
- Use the "Skip Duplicates" option during import if available
- If you need to update existing data, use the update option instead of import
Browser Issues
Some import problems can be related to your browser.
Solution:
- Use a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
- Clear your browser cache and cookies
- Disable browser extensions that might interfere with file uploads
- Try a different browser if problems persist
